Job summary

ABB in New Berlin, Wisconsin, is seeking a skilled technician to repair standard drive units and subassemblies on-site. You will plan daily work, process repair orders, troubleshoot and test components, and coordinate parts and documentation to ensure timely, quality repairs.

The role requires an associate degree in electronics (or equivalent experience) and ECAP level 3, with hands-on tool proficiency and familiarity with SAP. This on-site position supports the Motion Service in the US.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in electronics and two years related experience; or high school diploma and four years of related electrical experience.
• Pass ECAP level 3.
• Experience with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and plan daily work assignments, prioritizing customer products in for repair; coordinate with Team Lead for scheduling and expediting repair orders.
• Process Repair work orders, both customer repair orders and production orders.
• Troubleshoot repair of standard drive units, subassemblies and circuit boards; perform testing and burn-in as needed for cost-effective problem resolution.
• Research BOMs, ECNs, or other documents to identify required parts for drive/component repair.
• Complete Material Requisitions or contact Inventory Planner for parts.
• Maintain all required paperwork, records, and failure analysis reports.
