Job summary

Slipstream Life Sciences in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a Deskside Engineer to provide hands-on IT support in a fast-paced, onsite environment. You will handle desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, troubleshoot Windows and iOS, manage user access via Active Directory, and resolve issues from initial troubleshooting to resolution, ensuring minimal downtime and a positive user experience.

Qualifications

3+ years of desktop or technical IT support experience.
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Experience supporting iOS devices.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and basic networking concepts.
Experience using remote desktop/support tools.
Experience in IT ticketing environments; Freshservice experience is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize issues and work independently while collaborating with the team.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Troubleshoot Windows and iOS devices.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and user-access issues.
Support user accounts and access through Active Directory.
Troubleshoot basic networking issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Use remote support tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and recurring issues.
Create, manage, and resolve support requests through Freshservice.
Collaborate with IT team and take ownership of issues.
Identify opportunities to improve the end-user technology experience.
