Job summary

Leidos is offering a Summer 2027 Internship for a Network Engineering & Ops Intern on the GSM-O II contract at Scott AFB, IL. You will be embedded with engineering and operations teams, gaining hands-on experience on the live DISN network that supports DISA missions.

You will shadow senior engineers, learn Change Management, analyze network data, monitor health after changes, and collaborate to turn technical problems into actionable solutions, building strong defense IT fundamentals.

Qualifications

U.S. citizen eligible for DoD Secret clearance.
Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field.
Foundational networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and OSI model.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem solving.
Collaborative with strong written and verbal communication skills.
On-site internship at Scott AFB, Illinois; no telework.

Responsibilities

Shadow and assist senior engineers with customer coordination and network activations.
Learn Change Management and how TSOs are managed.
Analyze network databases and doc to validate requirements.
Monitor network health after scheduled changes.
Collaborate with engineers to translate problems into solutions.
Understand how DISA organizations work together to meet partner needs.
