Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in its on-site data centers. You will work with networks, routers, hubs, switches and related protocols to keep critical infrastructure running at peak performance.

The role requires physical work, the ability to lift 50 lb, and willingness to work non-standard hours plus travel as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Willingness to work non-standard hours including weekends, nights, holidays, and shift work.
Willingness to travel to support business priorities as required.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues as they arise.
Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life in a team setting.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
