Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and server software in a data center environment. You will work on networks, routers, hubs, and switches, supporting cutting-edge infrastructure behind Google’s services.

The role requires onsite work and physical readiness, with opportunities to collaborate on small projects and contribute to reliability and efficiency at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and troubleshooting technical equipment at component level.
• Diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel as needed.
• Willingness to work onsite in the US.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data, tracking media to check for data security issues per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement in a team setting.
• Repair and preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure with defined solutions and limited guidance.
