Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Deployment Technician for a fully onsite role in Hermiston, OR. You will install and support large-scale data center infrastructure, collaborating with engineers and site leadership to ensure successful deployments.

The position requires hands-on experience with cabling, rack-and-stack, and safety compliance, along with strong communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data center operations, structured cabling, or telecommunications.
• Experience with low-voltage installation and security systems installation.
• Hardware deployment and rack-and-stack experience.
• Knowledge of cabling standards and best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling per ANSI/TIA standards.
• Perform rack integration, equipment installation, and cable management.
• Support data center deployments and MDF/IDF installations.
• Stage hardware, label assets, and prepare sites for deployment.
• Inspect, test, and certify installations for quality and compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain project timelines.
• Document deployment records and labeling accurately.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers throughout execution.
• Identify risks and escalate blockers to ensure outcomes.
• Follow safety protocols and deployment best practices.
