Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Deployment Technician in Hermiston, OR to install and deploy network and data center infrastructure as part of large-scale projects powering modern facilities. Qualified candidates have 3+ years in data center operations or structured cabling, rack-and-stack experience, and the discipline to work safely in active construction sites.

This is a contract, onsite role offering competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data center operations, structured cabling, or related fields.
• Experience with rack-and-stack deployments and cable management.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Perform rack integration, equipment installation, device mounting, and cable management.
• Support data center deployments, room builds, and MDF/IDF installations.
• Stage hardware, label assets, prepare sites, and execute deployment activities.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and certifications to validate quality and compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues while maintaining project timelines.
• Maintain deployment documentation and records.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site leadership.
• Identify risks, escalate issues, and follow safety protocols.
