Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC in Charlotte, NC seeks an Assistant Superintendent to join our team and lead field operations on concrete-heavy projects. You will support the Superintendent, enforce safety plans, and coordinate with owners, designers, and subs to keep projects moving.

Responsibilities include developing production plans, preparing status and payroll documents, recruiting onsite staff, reviewing plans, and ensuring schedules are met. Strong communication and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in concrete.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written; able to present to management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendent with planning and supervising construction activities.
• Coordinate with Estimating, Division Management and Project Management to oversee projects.
• Develop production plans with budget goals in mind.
• Prepare project status and payroll documentation as required by HR/Payroll.
• Review plans and shop drawings for contract conformance and coordination.
• Procure tools and materials and manage staffing for each phase of the project.
• Recruit, hire, and direct onsite field personnel in line with HR procedures.
• Ensure safety compliance and enforce company safety policies on site.
• Maintain schedules and oversee subcontractors to ensure contract terms are met.
• Liaise with owners, designers, subcontractors, and inspectors to resolve issues.
