Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. in Washington, DC, seeks a Commercial Construction Project Engineer as part of our 12-month HITT Futures Program. You will shadow experienced superintendents on live projects, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship toward a future supervisory role.

The program is designed for graduates, veterans, and motivated individuals, offering structured training, project exposure across offices, and a clear path to promotion to assistant-level project manager or superintendent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or degree in construction/engineering/architecture/business preferred.
• Experience on commercial job sites preferred.
• Passion for construction and on-site work.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365, ProCore, Adobe Suite, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Commit to being fully onsite for the 12-month training program.
• Shadow, learn, and gain hands-on experience with day-to-day operations.
• Follow directions from Futures Program Sponsor and participate in reviews.
• Demonstrate professional skills in communication, organization, and integrity.
• Set up and maintain jobsite records, updates to drawings, and safety compliance.
