Job summary

HITT Contracting in Austin, TX, seeks a Commercial Construction Project Engineer via the HITT Futures Program. This 12‑month, on‑site training path shadows construction teams and fast-tracks to an assistant project manager or superintendent.

You will gain hands‑on experience, develop skills in scheduling, documentation, coordination, and safety, and rotate through project phases while staying fully onsite and mentored by senior leaders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; higher degrees preferred.
• Experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred.
• Willingness to work on-site and learn software systems.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and learn day-to-day project operations on site.
• Assist with project documentation, submittals, RFIs.
• Support Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Maintain safety programs and conduct weekly safety meetings.
