Job summary

Asset Living, a national third-party management firm, is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee the daily operations and financial functions of the housing community under the Community Manager.

You will supervise on-site staff, manage leasing, maintenance, and administration, and ensure budgeted revenues and expenses while complying with Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of property operations under the Community Manager.
• Post payments and income accurately; reconcile daily account receivables.
• Monitor bad debt, issue late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions.
• Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Post charges to accounts; bill back utilities where applicable.
• Manage end-of-month closing and reporting; maintain organized records.
• Conduct unit walk-throughs; post move-out charges and refunds.
• Ensure on-site staff adherence to policies, safety, and fair housing guidelines.
• Provide staff training, coaching, and development; ensure effective leadership.
• Implement leasing strategies, marketing plans, and resident retention programs.
• Handle resident complaints and requests, aiming for high resident satisfaction.
• Maintain property appearance; supervise maintenance and service requests; regular inspections.
