Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Engineer for the 12-month HITT Futures Program. The role is designed for new graduates, Veterans, and others passionate about elevating the business of building.

You will shadow onsite operations, gain hands-on experience, and participate in a structured development plan with mentorship and performance reviews. The program emphasizes on-site training, cross-functional learning, and a clear path to promotion to an assistant-level

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business preferred.
• Previous experience on commercial job sites preferred.
• Ability to learn sector-specific software systems (Office 365, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards).
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Shadow day-to-day operations on assigned project(s) onsite for 12 months.
• Participate in performance reviews and development goals on a 4-month cadence.
• Follow program sponsor directives and coaching.
• Set up and maintain jobsite records and drawings as directed.
• Assist in budgeting, scheduling updates, and subcontractor coordination.
• Support safety program implementation through weekly meetings and reports.
