Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Construction Engineer to join our Bakersfield, Fresno, or Sacramento Office onsite. The role supports the California High-Speed Rail program with data-driven engineering analysis, dashboards, and performance reporting.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in civil or mechanical engineering and at least two years of experience, plus strong skills in data systems, analytics, and reporting tools. Relocation is provided, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with data collection, validation, and analysis
• Experience with dashboards and reports
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, macros
• Experience with data systems and project controls software

Responsibilities

• Support data collection, validation, and analysis for program delivery
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports of KPIs, schedules, and metrics
• Use data visualization tools to present complex engineering and program data clearly
• Assist with data integration across enterprise systems
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc leadership reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify reporting needs and data gaps
• Apply engineering principles to interpret data trends for decision-making
• Perform QA/QC on datasets and outputs
• Develop documentation of workflows and data standards
• Contribute to automation and data-management improvement
