Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Construction Engineer to join our Bakersfield, Fresno, or Sacramento office. This onsite role supports the California High-Speed Rail program with data analysis, reporting, and performance dashboards. The ideal candidate holds a BS in civil or mechanical engineering and at least two years of related experience, with strong skills in data systems, analytics, and communication of technical concepts.

Relocation is provided. Sponsorship is not.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in civil or mechanical engineering with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience with data systems, reporting tools, or engineering databases.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Support data collection, validation, and analysis for program delivery.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs and schedules.
• Use data visualization tools to present complex engineering data clearly.
• Assist with data integration across enterprise systems.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc leadership reports.
• Identify reporting gaps and data inefficiencies with cross-functional teams.
• Apply engineering principles to interpret data trends for decisions.
• Perform QA/QC on datasets and outputs.
