Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple higher‑education construction projects onsite in Rhode Island. You will manage budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and coordination among university staff, contractors, architects, and consultants.

You will lead risk assessments, ensure safety compliance, and drive value through efficient procurement and contract management. Strong communication, leadership, and multi‑project execution are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in higher education or institutional settings.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale, complex construction projects.
• Experience working with architects, contractors, and facility management teams.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of construction‑related software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery per institutional specs.
• Develop budgets, schedules and scopes of work and monitor progress.
• Coordinate planning, design, procurement, construction, and close-out phases.
• Facilitate communication among university staff, contractors, architects, and consultants.
• Maintain contracts, project logs, change orders, meeting minutes, and reports.
• Define procurement scopes, review designs for compliance with standards.
• Manage contractor selection, bidding, and vendor negotiations.
• Prepare cost estimates, approve invoices, and monitor budget adherence.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation, and ensure safety compliance.
• Lead site visits, document quality and safety, resolve conflicts.
• Prepare final reports and transfer operations data to facilities management.
• Organize project meetings and track milestones and actions.
