Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC in Spring Hill, TN is seeking a Production Engineer to join an automated manufacturing team. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot production issues, analyze results, and implement manufacturing methods to maximize yield and productivity in a highly automated environment.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, schedule optimization, cost reduction, and close collaboration with maintenance, facilities, and internal/external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or related) required.
• 1–3+ years of experience in continuous improvement or manufacturing in a highly automated environment (experience with lithium-ion batteries preferred).
• Must be able to speak and read English.
• Experience with large production lines, PFMEAs, and process controls is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Bottleneck Analysis is helpful.

• Evaluate and update the production schedule, oversee quality control and ensure on-time production and project completion.
• Coordinate with maintenance and facility teams to reduce downtime.
• Analyze and reduce costs while maximizing production processes.
• Approve expenditures for supplies, materials and vendor services.
