Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System Technician to support deployment and operation of our autonomous haulage technology on Komatsu 930E trucks. You will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and help with autonomous conversions in dynamic mining environments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, plus diesel/mechatronics/electrical tech credentials. Expect rotational shifts, outdoor conditions, and a focus on safety and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Technical certification or associate degree preferred in Diesel Tech, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering Tech.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals; strong diagnostic skills.
• Willing to work rotating shifts in outdoor mining environments.
• Good teamwork and communication with Tier 1 technicians and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks to ensure reliable autonomous operation.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 technicians in the conversion process to autonomous operation; assist with commissioning and diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on suspension systems, braking mechanisms, hoist functions, and steering assemblies.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort duties and system restarts.
• Maintain up-to-date service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
• Communicate with site personnel to ensure readiness and rapid response to maintenance needs.
• Participate in training modules toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu's autonomous systems pathway.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and environmental policies.
