Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System Technician to support deployment and operation of autonomous mining technology on Komatsu 930E haul trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist with autonomous conversions, and contribute to safe, efficient mining operations.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in heavy equipment or mining maintenance, with relevant diesel or electrical certifications.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
Technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on heavy machinery.
Ability to interpret schematics, manuals and technical documentation.
Willingness to work rotational shifts in outdoor, noisy mining sites.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to ongoing learning in autonomous mining tech.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks in autonomous mode.
Assist with trucking conversions and commissioning of autonomous systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance on suspensions, brakes, hoists and steering.
Support autonomous system operations, including vehicle escort and restarts.
Keep precise service records and escalate issues per protocols.
Coordinate with Tier 1 technicians and site staff to ensure readiness.
Engage in training modules toward Tier 1 certification.
Follow safety and environmental policies on site.
