Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our Autonomous Haulage System on Komatsu 930E trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and assist with autonomous system conversions in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Preferred technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems as applied to heavy machinery and ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues using systematic diagnostic methods.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts and outdoor mining site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks to ensure top-performing operation in autonomous settings.
• Support conversion process of haul trucks to autonomous operation, including commissioning and detailed diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and repairs on suspensions, brakes, hoists, and steering to uphold safety and performance.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort, system restarts, and managing obstacles for smooth operation.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
• Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff to ensure readiness and rapid response.
• Engage in training modules to progress toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu's autonomous systems pathway.
• Adhere to safety and environmental policies on site.
