Job summary

TGW Systems Inc. in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Resident Automation Technician Lead to support the customer on all automation topics and supervise TGW resident technician teams onsite.

You will coordinate maintenance, incidents, training, timecards, and customer meetings while driving improvements in automation performance and KPI delivery. Strong electromechanical, HMI/SCADA, and PLC knowledge are essential, with travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Several years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical troubleshooting, HMI/SCADA, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point person between the supported facility and assigned Lifetime Services team for automation and personnel-related topics.
• Assist with onsite responsibilities such as managing incidents, identifying training needs, coordinating shift work, approving timecards, responding to time-off requests, attending customer meetings, and other tasks as directed.
• Coordinate work orders and oversee maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
• Provide hands-on assistance with maintenance activities, lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve issues requiring in-depth technical knowledge.
• Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible; perform root cause analyses and drive issues to resolution.
• Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory; drive continuous improvement to optimize automation efficiency and KPI delivery.
