Job summary

Applied Innovation in Grand Rapids is seeking an Accounts Receivable Administrator – Collections to manage customer accounts, perform collection activities, and support accurate payment processing. The role reports to the Director of Accounting and is an onsite position with standard hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Professional and customer-focused approach handling difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on past-due invoices.
• Contact customers by phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve payment issues.
• Maintain professional customer relationships while managing collection activities.
• Document collection efforts and elevate unresolved issues as needed.
• Process and apply customer payments; reconcile payments to accounts and invoices.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and variances.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and balances.
• Prepare AR aging reports and collection updates for management.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to AR.
• Ensure adherence to policies and improve AR processes.
