Job summary

CWS Apartment Homes is seeking a Maintenance Technician to enhance community safety and reliability while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves hands-on maintenance across residential properties, coordinating with residents and team members, and supporting preventative programs.

The position requires at least 1 year in apartment maintenance, relevant certifications, and a willingness to travel within metro areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year experience in apartment maintenance or a trade with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC knowledge (preferred).
• Certifications including EPA, HVAC I & II, and CPO (required).
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance (required).
• Own a basic set of hand tools (required).
• Able to read service requests and schedules in English; communicate with team members, residents, and vendors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to adhere to set and variable work schedules, including weekends and emergencies as required.
• Able to travel within major metropolitan areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare make-ready apartments.
• Complete service requests.
• Perform common area maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and shop organization.
• Participate in preventative maintenance program.
• Participate in resident satisfaction programs.
• Communicate with customers, residents, investors, vendors, leadership, and CWS team members.
• Participate in CWS Risk Management and Safety Programs.
