Job summary

Slalom is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, evaluate, and deploy production-grade AI systems for clients. You will own implementation workstreams, write production-quality code, and articulate technical decisions, progress, risks, and business value to stakeholders.

You will work hands-on with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) to deliver scalable AI solutions and responsible AI practices across client engagements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and building data, AI, software, or ML solutions in real-world environments.
• Hands-on software development experience using Python and modern practices.
• Experience delivering AI/ML solutions beyond notebooks, incl. deployment and monitoring.
• Experience with major AI platforms such as Azure/AWS/GCP.
• Strong consultative and communication skills for business and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-enabled applications and systems, incl. LLM-powered apps and data pipelines.
• Utilize cloud services and data platforms to deliver reliable AI solutions.
• Contribute to AI solution architecture and deployment strategies.
• Own implementation workstreams from design through delivery.
• Collaborate with clients to translate inputs into deployable AI solutions.
• Build AI systems integrated with enterprise data and APIs.
• Apply responsible AI practices, including governance and safety considerations.
• Stay current on AI engineering patterns and tools.
