Job summary

RTX is seeking an Associate Software Engineer (onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA) to help shape the software foundation for avionics. You will work on core components, libraries, and tools, contributing to safety-critical systems and DO-178 certification efforts.

You will develop software using modern C++ with OO design, perform verification activities, and collaborate with customers and regulatory authorities to ensure compliant solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM obtained by start date.
60 hours of credit by start date.
On-the-job experience, coursework, or projects accepted.

Responsibilities

Develop architecture and design of core software components, libraries, and tooling for avionics.
Work across development and verification activities for safety-critical software (DO-178).
Create software requirements, decomposition, and traceability for complex systems.
Develop and verify software using modern C++ and OO design.
Produce DO-178 certification artifacts, including DAL-A deliverables.
Engage with customers and regulatory authorities during certification.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with program goals.
