Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern to join the Mission Sensors, Weapons, and IFF avionics team. You will develop requirements, tests, verification, and perform software and systems integration in an Agile environment.

You will design software requirements using DOORs, create automated Python test scripts, and collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to deliver robust solutions for aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering or STEM and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with scripting using Python (or similar).
• Familiarity with Requirements Development.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements, tests, verification and software and systems integration for avionics systems.
• Work in an Agile team to translate requirements into robust software solutions and test strategies.
• Design and define software requirements using DOORs and develop automated/semi-automated Python test scripts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to refine system requirements and drive solutions.
