Job summary

VEC is seeking a Survey/3D Laser Scanning Technician in Garland, TX to document observations, maintain office-field continuity, and leverage technology for quality control of installations. You will work with field crews, foremen, and project managers to ensure constructability, accuracy, and seamless execution, using 360 cameras, 3D laser scanners, RTS, and UAS for progress tracking.

Candidates should have 1+ year in construction, be willing to travel extensively, and be proficient with Scan

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years in construction
• Travel flexibility: ability to travel for work for extended periods
• Proficiency with BIM coordination and field coordination
• Strong knowledge of Scan Registration software, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Procore
• Familiarity with construction terminology and means & methods

Responsibilities

• Documentation and Reporting: organize and centralize project data for real-time access
• Quality Assurance Observations: perform third-party observations to identify discrepancies and risks
• Onsite Support: collect data with 360 camera and 3D laser scanner; communicate as-built conditions
• Client Collaboration & Problem Solving: work with field teams to resolve constructability concerns
• Additional duties: support field team, drive process improvements, stay current with new tech
