Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift at our St James, MN plant. You will lead frontline production employees, monitor yields, and implement real-time adjustments to keep safety, quality, and efficiency at the forefront.

This role requires a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of supervisory experience in food processing or manufacturing, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Occasional weekend work and up to 5% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
• Experience leading training/coaching for staff or managing a process/project.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety inspections and lead corrective actions.
• Maintain product quality by enforcing food safety and quality plans; train staff on SOPs.
• Track production yields, efficiencies and variances; collaborate with managers to improve workflows and reduce downtime.
• Lead hourly production employees; conduct monthly line meetings and daily floor walks.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and quality while controlling costs.
