Job summary

Success Education Colleges invites an adjunct faculty member to teach undergraduate English comprehension for the BSN program. The position is 12 hours per week, online, with instruction aligned to approved curricula and learning outcomes.

You will develop syllabi, assessments, and provide timely feedback, while supporting diverse adult learners and leveraging LMS tools to deliver engaging, outcomes-based instruction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English, Composition, Reading, Literacy, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in another discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in English, Reading, or a related content area
• Prior postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with adult learners or diverse student populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned English Comprehension courses in accordance with approved course outlines, objectives, and student learning outcomes.
• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction emphasizing reading comprehension, vocabulary development, critical thinking, and written communication.
• Integrate healthcare- and nursing-related readings to support student success in the BSN program.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in compliance with institutional requirements.
• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently; provide timely, constructive feedback to promote learning and improvement.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and instructional records and submit required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners, adult students, and varying academic backgrounds.
• Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for in-person, hybrid, or online instruction.
• Hold office hours or provide academic support to students as required.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, assessment activities, and professional development as assigned.
• Uphold academic integrity and enforce institutional policies and classroom standards.
