Job summary

South Piedmont Community College seeks an English Adjunct Instructor to serve in the School of Arts and Sciences. Courses may include ENG-111 (Writing and Inquiry), ENG-112 (Writing and Research in the Disciplines), Developmental English, American and British Literature, and Creative Writing, taught asynchronously, synchronously, or online at flexible times.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a completed Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Experience in community college teaching is preferred.
• Online teaching experience and Canvas proficiency are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver English courses such as ENG-111 and ENG-112 in asynchronous, synchronous, or online formats.
• Attend to campus locations Monroe or Polkton or online with flexible scheduling.
• Maintain course records, ensure syllabi meet deadlines, and participate in continuous improvement.
• Select and utilize appropriate learning materials, including library resources, to support student success.
