Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. in Tampa seeks a collaborative, growth-minded Department Manager to lead the One Water Southeast team. You will guide and develop a talented group, strengthen client relationships, influence department strategy, and help expand our regional impact.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage workloads, and oversee project management, proposals, budgets, and billing as part of a broader company leadership function. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
• At least 5 years (10+ preferred) of experience in the AEC consulting industry.
• PE in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states within one year of selection/hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage department staff, assign work, monitor workload, review timesheets and expenses, and plan staff development.
• Oversee department workload, manage projects, obtain new projects, write proposals, negotiate contracts, and monitor budgets and profitability.
• Coordinate with business unit leader for strategic planning and inter-department collaboration, maintain licenses and registrations, and support annual business planning.
• Provide project management support including scoping, pricing, reports, schedules, and quality control; ensure effective client communication and staff guidance.
