Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an Anticipated vacancy for a One-to-One Paraprofessional to provide direct service to a student and support daily instruction. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, mobility, communication systems, and behavior support under supervision.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys, and ABA training. Authorization to work in the U.S. by start date is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys.
• Experience with a student diagnosed with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Ability to work with parents/guardians, administrators, teachers and students.
• Experience supporting team instruction.
• Trained in ABA.
• Authorized to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of children instructionally, assist with toileting, transfers and personal hygiene.
• Assist with school nurse duties including tube feedings; scribing and note taking.
• Support language systems and alternative communication methods.
• Follow behavior plans, apply de-escalation techniques and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher to implement daily lesson plans.
• Communicate openly with parents and staff; perform duties as needed.
