Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a One-to-One Paraprofessional to provide direct service to an individual student and support daily instruction. Responsibilities include instruction in small groups, personal care tasks, and collaboration with teachers, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or ParaPro/WorkKeys certification.
• Experience with a student who has mild to moderate disabilities.
• Ability to collaborate with parents/guardians, administrators, teachers, and students.
• Experience assisting with team instruction.
• ABA training completed.
• Authorized to work in the United States by their first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups in instruction, toileting, lifting and transfers, and daily care as needed.
• Assist with language systems and communication methods (ASL, SEE 2, PECS).
• Support behavior management, redirection, and de-escalation strategies.
• Assist the school nurse with tube feedings where required.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement daily lesson plans.
• Foster open communication with parents and staff.
• Perform other duties as requested by school leadership.
