Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated One-to-One Paraprofessional to support individual students under teacher supervision. You will participate in daily instruction, assist with mobility, classroom routines, and related activities to meet the needs of the assigned student.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an associate degree, or Parapro/WorkKeys certification, and demonstrated experience with disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
  • Experience with students with disabilities.
  • Ability to work with parents, administrators, teachers and students.
  • Flexible to meet student needs; ABA training.
  • Must have current US work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with small groups and assist with instruction, toileting, lifting and transfers.
  • Assist with communication systems (ASL, SEE 2, PECS, boards) and Braille.
  • Support behavior management, de-escalation and ABA techniques.
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher to implement daily lesson plans.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and staff; cover duties as needed.
