Job summary

Education for Change is looking for dynamic and visionary paraeducators to work as one-to-one aides for students in a general education setting.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, they will provide instructional support and assistance to the student and teachers; perform a variety of support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction; perform a variety of clerical support duties related to classroom activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of study or an associate degree preferred.
• Experience with students in special education or urban educational settings desired.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe classroom and supportive learning environment.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom activities.
• Assist teachers in creating curriculum modifications for students.
• Provide testing accommodations and supervise tests when needed.
• Review student work and monitor progress toward goals.
• Support behavioral interventions and model positive interactions.
