Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant - 1 on 1 Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in a diverse classroom. Responsibilities also cover communicating with parents, contributing to lesson plans, and providing aides with instructional activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED prior to hire.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• 60 college credits or an associate’s degree or paraprofessional test; offered by WESD at no cost.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in diverse classroom settings and work with special education students individually or in groups.
• Monitor students on the playground and in the cafeteria; prepare materials and photocopy as needed.
• Communicate with parents regarding progress and concerns; support lesson planning with feedback.
