Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools' Discovery Middle School in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for 1:1 Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. The role is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, and is a one-on-one position with students who have special needs.

Starting immediately, non-exempt hourly position with focus on collaboration with teachers, CPI training, and safety procedures. Eligibility includes education transcripts or ParaPro results and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Possess an Associate degree or 60 semester credits (or 72 quarter credits).
• ETS ParaPro Assessment score of 461 or higher is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing and evaluating IEP goals.
• Serve as a positive role model and support student learning.
• Monitor, collect data, and assist with behavior management as directed.
• Provide support for students with disabilities and adapt materials as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in required trainings.
