Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). This one-on-one role supports students during the school day and helps implement instructional goals under the supervision of a certificated teacher.

The position is non-exempt, 6.5 hours per day, nine months per year, with CPI and de-escalation training. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and experience with disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education preferred.
• Associate’s degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or ParaPro score 461+ may be considered.
• Experience with children in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team and with diverse students.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support under the teacher's direction.
• Assist with behavior management and data collection for student progress.
• Support students with disabilities in classroom activities and transitions.
• De-escalate disruptive situations and implement behavior plans as directed.
• Prepare teaching materials and assist with assessments and documentation.
