Job summary

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a One Call Admission Coordinator to manage incoming calls for admission or transfer requests across multiple facilities. You will coordinate internal bed placement with nursing supervision and the Admitting team.

The role requires strong customer service, healthcare knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly case management and admission/transfer criteria.
• Knowledge of payers; Managed Care, Medicare, Medi-Cal, others.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with departments for admission/transfer requests to HPMC.
• Receives and coordinates incoming calls for admission/transfer requests.
• Adheres to metrics and 30-minute response targets for One Call processes.
• Identifies alternative placements for patient safety as needed.
• Communicates with physicians, admissions, case management, and other stakeholders.
• Ensures proper billing data and compliance with logs and documentation.
• Uses AIDET across settings and participates in trainings and IT improvements.
• Supports management in problem resolution and process improvements.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards per policy.
