Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of one to two years of college preferred.
• Maintains current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II licensure.
• Maintains current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Brown University Health Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Maintains sterile compounding environment and equipment per SOPs.
• Performs hand hygiene and garbing per SOPs.
• Performs sterile compounding per USP 797, 800; NIOSH guidelines; Brown policies.
• Performs non-sterile compounding per USP 795, 800; NIOSH; Brown policies.
• Completes accurate documentation of compounded medications per policy.
• Operates ancillary compounding equipment (pumps) as needed.
• Collaborates with oncology and purchasing teams to procure medications and supplies.
• Tracks temperature and environmental controls for storage.
• Transfers medications to off-site locations when needed.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students.
