Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to evaluate, plan and document nursing care for cancer patients in hospital and outpatient settings. Travel opportunities include Knoxville and Nashville locations with responsibilities spanning surgery prep, patient education and infusion administration.

The role requires an active RN license, with oncology experience preferred and OCN certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state practicing
• One year of oncology nursing experience preferred
• OCN certification preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement and document nursing care for oncology patients under physician direction
• Assist with surgery prep and patient education in hospital settings
• Support chemotherapy and infusion treatments in outpatient centers
• Monitor vitals, manage side effects and pain, and coordinate cancer treatments

Job description

The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implementsand documents nursing care for the oncology patient population under thedirection of the physician. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitalsand outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology RegisteredNurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of theircancer treatments. In outpatient carecenter settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatmentssuch as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients’ vitals, sideeffects, and pain.

• Current RN license in state practicing
• One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
• OCN certification preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
