Job summary

Texas Oncology in Abilene, TX is seeking a Pharmacy/Admixture Technician to support medication preparation, distribution, and inventory in a clinic setting. You will work under supervision with a nurse or pharmacist and contribute to compliance with applicable policies and safety standards.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent and pharmacy experience; IV skills/experience are preferred. The position offers a team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth within a statewide

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry level to three years experience in a pharmacy.
• IV experience preferred; IV certification preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered, adhering to guidelines and safety standards.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and conversions between metric and apothecary.
• Maintain controlled substance records in accordance with regulations.
• Dispose of materials per guidelines; ensure proper waste handling.
• Maintain temperature logs and documentation for protocol and patient meds.
• Manage inventory with proper documentation of lot numbers and expirations.
