Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join the oncology-focused team within the Carle Cancer Center. You will deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients and serve as a clinical expert supporting specialty care across hematology/oncology, urology, ophthalmology, and research.

You will supervise technicians, participate in rounds, manage med-therapy, dosing, and safety initiatives, and help develop policies to promote safe, evidence-based chemotherapy and trial

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Bachelor's Degree: Pharmacy (Required).
  • Clinical work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: intervene to improve prescribing, administration, and monitoring.
  • MTM services and patient education as defined by state pharmacy act.
  • Determine optimal med doses based on patient factors and organ function.
  • Collaborate with hematology/oncology and inpatient teams for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Prepare and manage chemotherapy and investigational medications for trials.
  • Attend rounds and provide pharmacy services in interdisciplinary care.
  • Enhance patient-centered care with hematology/oncology providers.
  • Monitor adverse effects and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Oversee preparation of chemotherapy and staff training in the department.
