Job summary

Compass Oncology is seeking a New Patient Coordinator at the West Cancer Center in Tigard, OR. You will act as the patient’s liaison among the practice, hospital, support services, and payors to ensure a high-quality patient experience during cancer treatment.

The role involves coordinating referrals, scheduling oncology-related appointments, handling insurance matters, and providing patient education materials. A strong emphasis on compassion, teamwork, and patient-centered care is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computer systems, medical billing systems, and Microsoft Office Outlook & Word.

Responsibilities

• Prior to a patient’s first appointment, obtain basic chart information.
• Coordinate physician referrals and scheduling of oncology-related appointments.
• Resolve insurance billing and coding issues and contact agencies as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assess patient financial requirements.
• Obtain pre-authorization of services and maintain accurate demographic data.
• Provide educational materials and connect patients with community resources.
• Respond to patient inquiries with timely, professional solutions.
