Job summary

Compass Oncology's Vancouver Cancer Center is hiring a New Patient Coordinator to work with new patients as a liaison between our practice, hospital, support services and payors to ensure that our patient experience and care is the best it can be during their cancer treatment journey. This is a full-time 40-hour per week role at the West Cancer Center in Tigard, OR, with a salary range of $19.52-$30.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• At least four years of related experience in medical office, coding/billing, patient advocacy, or social services.
• Ability to verbally articulate information clearly.
• Must be personable.
• Proficiency with medical billing systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Contact or meet with patient before first appointment to collect basic chart information.
• Ask patients questions to match with Network physician style.
• Coordinate physician referrals and oncology appointments; resolve insurance issues.
• Verify insurance, assess financial needs, obtain pre-authorization.
• Provide educational materials and connect patients with community resources.
• Respond to patient inquiries and assist with non-routine issues.
