Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN is seeking a compassionate patient care assistant to support oncology patients across a wide range of diagnoses. You’ll help with daily living activities, monitor vitals, and report findings to nursing staff.

You will train in phlebotomy to assist when needed, contribute to emotional and physical support, and participate in a team that values dignity, respect, and patient-centered care in a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and care for patients with a wide-array of diagnoses.
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Take Vital Signs during your shift and report findings to nursing staff.
• Train in Phlebotomy to be able to assist nursing staff when the need arises.
• Contribute to the positive and encouraging physical, mental and emotional support for each patient.
