Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to perform vital signs and phlebotomy.
• Strong communication and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of patient care necessary to implement individual treatment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides psychological, emotional and physical care and support.
• Assists in maintaining the therapeutic environment of the program.
• Performs clinical care including vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection and point of care testing as directed.
• Collects data to contribute to assessment of patient strengths and limitations.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as directed by the RN.
• Provides input to the nurse and healthcare team regarding patient progress toward goals.
• Promotes a safe environment and orientation of newly admitted patients to the program.
• Provides feedback to the charge nurse about safety concerns.
• Participates in gathering patients for groups and assists in co-leading groups.
