The role acts as the patient liaison among the practice, hospital, support services, and payors, ensuring smooth referrals and accurate charting.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, at least two years related experience in medical coding or billing or patient advocacy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of directly related experience such as medical coding or billing, patient advocate, or social services.
• Proficiency with computer systems, medical billing systems, and Microsoft Office Outlook & Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals, schedule oncology-related appointments, and resolve insurance billing/coding issues.
• Verify insurance eligibility, assess patient financial needs, and assist with pre-authorizations.
• Provide educational materials to patients and families and maintain patient education resources.
• Match patient information with physician style and coordinate with support services as needed.
• Escalate non-routine issues to supervisor and refer patients to community resources.
