Job summary

The US Oncology Network invites applications for a Patient Benefits Representative to support the Medical Oncology Department at Texas Oncology in Harker Heights, TX. This full-time role will involve educating patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and payment options, and coordinating with billing and financial aid sources.

Level 1 or Senior level is determined by relevant experience; the job requires strong communication, computer skills, and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS coding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and use the correct terminology.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and educate patient on coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements; guide to financial aide programs.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and forward to billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer before treatment.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance in the system per SOPs.
• Ensure correct entry of patient co-pays for front desk collection.
