Job summary

The US Oncology Network's Texas Oncology clinic in Denton is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, assess financial need, and manage eligibility updates in the system. This is a full-time role based at the Denton clinic, with standard M-F hours.

The position may be at Level 1 or Sr depending on experience, requiring strong communication skills and knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding. Training and HIPAA compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Assess patient financial ability and discuss payment arrangements.
• Update patient eligibility, coverage, and benefits in the system.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes prior to treatment.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance at visits.
