Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Patient Benefits Representative to join the Medical Oncology Department at the 901 W. 38th Street clinic in Austin, TX.

The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00a–4:30p, with a level 1 or Sr classification based on experience. Responsibilities include educating patients on insurance coverage, assessing financial needs, obtaining pre-authorizations, and maintaining patient records in the system.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding applications.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to educate patients on insurance and benefits.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of joining.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature; forward to billing.
